Guy wrote the following about the Basque country of France~<br />

"Coming from the east, north or south, you know immediately when you are in the Basque Country. Driving on winding roads, one will notice that all houses are painted white with red roofs and red lattices. You recognize the Basque people as most of them dress in white with red scarves and belts. This painting depicts the wheat harvest. I like the contrast between golden yellow fields and green hills. This scene is situated near the towns of Bayonne and Espelette, the capital of the pimento. I was there recently visiting an old friend of mine, Jean Pierre, who put together a luncheon that started at 11 am and ended at midnight. Needless to say that I spent the night in that white house with a red roof."
